And it's a truly amazing return. Thundermother's third album is simply one of the greatest rock records you'll get to hear this year. In the spring of 2017 Thundermother saw some drastic changes. Four members left, three new ones arrived. But the band's center piece - guitarist and founder Filippa Nässil - stood steady by her vision. Around that vision the new line-up quickly gathered and every piece immediately fell into place. In June the new, upgraded version of Thundermother released "We Fight For Rock N Roll" - a single that was just as much of a statement as a taste of great deeds to come. After that they hit the road for a 20 dates long tour through Europe. The highlight of the tour was the concert at Wacken. After touring with Michael Monroe, W.A.S.P, D-A-D, Danko Jones etc. and a sold-out European headline tour it was finally time for the band to conquer Wacken. Even though they they've only played together for a few months the show was a complete success for Thundermother's new line-up. - To play at Wacken has been my major goal since I started the band and now we stood there and performed in front of 10 000 people. Released in March of 2006, Band of Horses'' debut Everything All the Time made good on the promise hinted at in their early shows and demos. The band went from early shows opening for friends Iron & Wine, to playing on The Late Show with David Letterman by July, and being nominated as one of ten finalists (along with Joanna Newsom, Beirut, Tom Waits, and, the eventual winner, Cat Power) for the Shortlist Music Prize for that same year. And the record was well-received critically, with celebratory press in Spin, Entertainment Weekly, NY Times, Harp, Billboard, Pitchfork, Magnet, NME, Uncut, and a slew of others. Not a bad place to start. For a lot of reasons, Cease to Begin is the perfect title for this new record. Not only do the songs themselves weave this theme through the record, but stopping and starting anew is also a reflection of the past year and a half for Band of Horses. Though they worked with producer Phil Ek again, as they did on Everything All the Time, much has changed between the fairly recent then and now. There have been band members who have come and gone, including Mat Brooke, who left the band to pursue other interests and his own band. For core members Ben Bridwell, Rob Hampton and Creighton Barrett, there has been a move from Seattle, WA to Mt. Pleasant, SC, a relocation that had been planned for some time so that they could all be closer to their families. And, close friends and family have come and gone-some far too early. 'PULSE' was compiled by James Guthrie, using various performances from the band's 1994 Division Bell tour across the UK and Europe featuring David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Richard Wright. The album includes 'The Dark Side of the Moon' performed in full, as well as a whole side dedicated to the show's encore. The 4-LP set includes four different inner sleeves, each inside individual outer sleeves, plus a 52-page hardback photo book, all encased in a thick card slipcase. This 2018 release was remastered from the original tapes by James Guthrie, Joel Plante and Bernie Grundman. Aubrey Powell of Hipgnosis and Peter Curzon, who worked on the original art with the late Hipgnosis co-founder, Storm Thorgerson, recreated the art package. Limited edition to 500 copies! "Noise Addiction" is the only original album by Pure Hell (Philadelphia, USA), recorded in 1978. It came first time out in 2006. In 1974, on the streets of Philadelphia, a band unlike any other was formed. They called themselves Pretty Poison. They had a sound so ahead of its time that the music industry was not yet ready for it. They coupled the punk sound of the New York bands of the time with a harder, faster heavy metal edge unheard before. Their unique sound was a result of Gordon's berserk choreography and Morris's needling guitar riffs, while Steel and Spider added synchronized barrage with no nonsense execution to the arsenal. Inspired by the famous fuel-altered dragster, they changed their name to Pure Hell in 1975. Soon after, they moved to New York City where they played with bands like the New York Dolls, Sid Vicious, Wayne County and the Electric Chairs, The Dead Boys, The Stimulators, Richard Hell, The Germs, The Nuns, The Cramps and more. In 1978 Pure Hell headlined a tour of the UK, with bands like The UK Subs, Wilko Johnson, Vermilion & the Aces and more opening for them. While in the UK, their only original record was released. It was a single released by their manager Curtis Knight on his label, Golden Sphinx Records. The songs on the single were "These Boots Were Made for Walking" and "No Rules." The single charted in the top 40 charts in the UK. During the same year, a full length album was recorded but was never released. It did not surface again for 28 years. TRACKLISTING: 01. Despite its iconic and influential status, Volle Kraft Voraus has never been reissued on vinyl since its first pressing by Warner in 1982. The first CD version hit in the 90s and a deluxe 2CD reissue came out 10 years ago, but the all-important vinyl reissue never saw the light of day, until, of course, now.
