Aaron Turner was sent this material by Tom and Jussi and initially ask to contribute to two or three songs to a sharp deadline, but the results soon revealed themselves to be so powerful that he ended up writing lyrics for the whole album, his vicious but uplifiting vision taking inspiration from the melodic yet scabrous likes of Killing Joke, Leatherface and Kill The Thrill. "I was also thinking of Drawing Down The Moon era Beherit where the music had gone almost entirely electronic and the only vestige of the metal aesthetic that remained was the vocal style" he notes "That rub of "artificial" music and organic/humanistic/off kilter vocals was intriguing for me." Written as the pandemic began to dominate world events in 2020, the resulting emotional turmoil couldn''t help but heavily affect its lyrical slant of this record. 6 has therefore become a record based on separation - the physical distance between the band members themselves, as well as the isolation of the quarantine itself. Yet it''s also a record concerned with finding a way forward amidst the modern cataclysms that surround - channelling negative experience into a positive change. 30035 LP Swedish Lyrics Punk Adore Music Out: 2020-08-21 | TORSSON - SOL OCH MÅNE 2020 Album Sol och måne - nytt album från Torsson Sedan förra albumet, som kom ut på bandets 40-årsdag år 2016, har det mesta sett ut som vanligt i hobbybandet Torssons värld. Nya låtar har skrivits, repats in, testats live och till slut spelats in. Men bakom kulisserna har ändå en viktig förändring gjorts. Under nästan 20 års tid gav Torssons ut sina plattor på ett större skivbolag men när detta under 2019 köptes upp av en amerikansk aktör, valde man att byta till ett mindre indiebolag, Adore Music i Göteborg. "Det kändes logiskt att börja samarbete med Peter Nordenström på Adore Music", säger Dan Persson, basist och kapellmästare. "För ett par år sedan släppte han vår låt "Det spelades bättre boll" som singel för Record Store Day på sitt bolag, och vi kände direkt att vi var på samma våglängd". Att Peter var Torssonfan ut i fingerspetsarna var såklart en bonus. "Han är en av de få med en komplett Torssonsamling, inklusive alla omslagsvarianterna på 80-talsalbumet "En rökare i krysset", och sånt imponerar ju, fortsätter Dan. Samarbetet med Adore Music har blivit något av en nystart för Torsson: "Nu är vi tillbaka i samma anda som när vi en gång inledde vår karriär i Klippan på Svenska Popfabriken. Det är lite mer jordnära, och en slags gör det själv-attityd som vi gillar, och det känns som vi fått ny energi och kreativitet", säger Bo Åkerström, som var med och startade bandet för snart 44 år sedan. Nya albumet "Sol och måne" innehåller tolv nya låtar, elva av dom skrivna av Bo Åkerström och en av Dan Persson. Titelspåret är ett drygt sju minuter långt epos som noggrant avhandlar en solförmörkelse, "Skjuter upp" handlar som sig bör om prokrastinering och "Hela världen" är en poetisk betraktelse över livet, sett från ett frukostbord. Detta är några exempel från albumet där vissa av låtarna är i klassisk torssonsk anda, det vill säga små berättelser från vardagen med mer eller mindre sanningsenligt innehåll, medan andra är rena hittepå-texter.
