Drawing on influences as diverse as guitar rock, punk, jazz, classical, beat- and whitmanesque-style poetry, Currents are constantly trying to push the basic two guitars, drums and bass rock formula into as many different directions as possible. The result is moody music with an edge, with repetitive beats, spiralling guitar-interplay and a simplistic punk energy. Lyrically, themes like everyday ruminations on life, love and nature are touched upon, often governed by whim.
